Writing an Authoritative Book
Your knowledge, in the book, is clear, interesting and accurate.
Have you written a nonfiction book, a guide, or a professional book? Nonfiction editing helps your target audience understand your ideas, follow your explanations, and derive value from them. I will help you refine your main message, build a clear flow between chapters, and polish your language, while maintaining your voice and professional accuracy.
What does editing involve?
We will examine the structure of the book, the order of the chapters, and the way each topic leads to the next. We will identify repetitions, gaps in explanation, and terms that require clarification, and we will examine where it is worth shortening and where an example is missing. When editing manuals and professional books, we will also check that the instructions are clear and that the use of terms is consistent. In addition to working on the content, we will polish the wording and adjust the level of detail to the knowledge of the target audience. Claims that require a source or verification will be marked for your review.
The experience I bring to your book
I am a writer, literary editor, and shadow writer, with an MBA from the Hebrew University and a background in high-tech and communications. This experience helps me work with complex professional content and make it clear and accessible. My experience in writing and editing prose also adds attention to pace, interest, and the use of stories and examples to illustrate ideas.
How will we work together?
We will begin by reading a section of your manuscript and discussing the purpose of your book, your target audience, and the help you need. Depending on the state of your text, we will determine the scope of the editing and the stages of the work. Throughout the process, I will suggest corrections and explain key decisions so that we can improve the book without losing what you wanted to say.
Do you have a manuscript that needs editing?
You can send me an excerpt from the book and a few words about the topic and the target audience, and we'll see what editing is appropriate for it.
